About me

Hi, I’m Sarah. With more than 18 years’ experience in digital and traditional communications, media and public relations, I’m here to help you tell your stories in authentic, innovative, persuasive and creative digital ways. The ultimate aim is for you to connect with your customers and successfully sell your products or services.

As a consumer, I love brands that want to talk to and engage with me as a person, not a credit card.

I’m great at listening to people and drawing out of them what their stories are. And I’ve got tons of experience of translating jargon and tech-speak into everyday language that everyone can understand.

I’ve always been a self-starter and early-adopter, and love to do innovative work, especially digital.

Whenever I create digital content I use a variety of tools (such as Keywords Everywhere, LSIGraph.com and Google trends and keyword planner) to make sure it reaches as wide an audience as possible.

I love to learn and surround myself with a mixture of high-tech gadgets, leafy plants and an endless stream of cups of tea.

On top of all that, I’m passionate about colour, natural style and texture. I love vintage and thrifted finds that have history, personality and a story to tell.

While working at Dorset County Council I introduced:

  • search-friendly content for web and intranet sites (my most recent work has focussed on intranet content, which is a bit of a pain because it’s an internal site and I can’t share it with you)
  • fresh ideas for social media campaigns
  • targeted paid-for Facebook advertising
  • a searchable, content-rich online newsroom
  • videos and animations (using Biteable and Powtoon) to bring the transition to a new unitary council to life

Beyond Dorset County Council I have edited ‘Peter’s Story‘ for Agincare, and have created social media and blog posts, plus email newsletters, for a local health clinic.

Offline, I’ve written news releases, articles for the council’s ‘Your Dorset‘ newspaper, reports, presentations and award entries.

Whether for digital or print, my style always reflects the target audience. I’m a proof-reading fiend, with an eagle-eye for typos and grammatical errors.
